About St. Joseph Mission
St. Joseph Mission took root through the generosity of Sara Bell, widow of town founder Joseph Mayer, whose gift helped build the original church. Under its first priest, Fr. L. Rousell, the mission grew alongside other fledgling communities in the region. Bishop Henry Granjon blessed the church on May 13, 1918, marking its formal beginning.
Over the decades, the mission weathered modest attendance, fostered charitable outreach through a St. Vincent de Paul store, and eventually built a new church in 1983 under Fr. Phillip Reiser, with an Adoration Chapel added later.
Today, St. Joseph Mission is pastorally and administratively served by St. Germaine Catholic Church in Prescott Valley, with Father John and Father Noble of the Order of the Piarist Fathers providing sacramental care.
