Enter The Church

Becoming Catholic

Becoming Catholic might just be the biggest decision one can make in their entire lives. We Catholics trace our roots back two-thousand years to when Jesus founded His Church on Peter the Apostle (Mt 16). This line of authority continues on to this very day through to our current Pope, Bishops and Priests. To put that into perspective, the Catholic Church is older than Scripture itself.

If you are looking to enter into the Catholic Church here at St. Germaine, we pray you allow us to accompany you on this incredible walk of discovery.

The beginning of your official entry into the Church comes from proper Faith Formation. For children this means attending our Religious Education Program. For adults, attending the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults. Both of these programs are offered September through Easter of every year. More information about these programs can be found by visiting 'Religious Education' on this website.

At St. Germaine you will never be alone. Allow us to walk beside you as we journey in unity to God.

Life at St. Germaine

St. Germaine Catholic Church in Prescott Valley has a simple mission statement: 'Building, Blessing, Becoming the Body of Christ.' We are founded on this short and simple belief of always looking to build new relationships, to bless, and to take part as the Body of Christ here on Earth.

We celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass every day and offer confession six days per week; more than most parishes in Northern Arizona. We also offer perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for all parishioners and have been doing so for over twenty years.

We don't stop there. St. Germaine is home to a wealth of various ministries from Bible Studies, Young Adult groups, mens and womens groups and our wonderful Hispanic ministries. More information about these groups can be found by visiting 'Ministries' on this website.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where should I park?

We have two parking lots. One is located at 7997 East Dana Drive and the other, 7925 East Long Look Drive, Prescott Valley AZ. Both are available to all Parishioners.

  • I’m not Catholic ... so, how do I know when to sit, stand and kneel?

There’s no need to be self-conscious about the postures and responses used during worship. Most visitors just follow the lead of the parishioners. Worship aides containing all the prayers and responses can be found in the first few pages of Breaking Bread as located in the pews.

  • I’m not Catholic ... is it okay for me to participate in communion?

Communion, or The Eucharist, is the most intimate expression of our faith. It is the source and summit of our lives as Catholics. We believe that the host is literally the body of Christ, transformed from bread through the Priest presiding over the service in a process known as Transubstantiation.

Many protestants think of Communion as symbolic, so it makes sense that they are not as strict about having the right relationship to it as Catholic and Orthodox Christians. If you are not Catholic, we ask that you not receive communion, even if you internally accept the true presence of Christ.

Those not receiving the Body of Christ are invited to come forward with their hands crossed over their chests for a special blessing.

  • I am Catholic but I have been away for many years...can I receive a confession?

If it has been longer than six months since your last  Confession we ask that you make a detailed Examination of Conscience before coming for confession, along with meeting with our Pastor, Father John.

Please call the Parish Office to schedule your meeting with our priest if it has been longer than six months since your last confession

  • I would like to enter the Adoration Chapel...how can I get the code?

The Perpetual Adoration Chapel is for registered parishioners. To receive a code please register with the parish either on this website by clicking 'Register Online' or in-person at the Parish Office during office hours.

If you register online, please call the Parish Office to confirm your registration has been receieved and the code will be given over the phone.

We ask that you do not share the code with anyone.
